Giving Tuesday is Here!

November 30, 2021 is the BIG DAY for our two nonprofit partners!

Both of WESFOREVER’s nonprofit partners are participating in this community fundraising event this year. Whiskeytown Environmental School Community (WES Community) and Friends of Whiskeytown (FOW) are raising money for several causes related to Whiskeytown National Recreation Area.

WES Community is focusing on capacity building to execute its capital campaign feasibility study. Next year will be their kick-off year for the capital campaign to rebuild WES cabins damaged by the Carr Fire, move Hatcher Hall out of the flood zone as well as improve and modernize facilities at the beloved environmental school’s campus. Visit WES Community’s fundraising page at Giving Tuesday. Also consider volunteering with WES Community!

FOW is raising funds to continue their educational outreach about the park with specific attention to seniors and families, assist and fundraise for specific projects such as trails damaged by the Carr Fire, purchase equipment and supplies needed for park programming such as kayaking and paddle boarding, and support volunteer programs. Visit FOW’s Giving Tuesday page at Giving Tuesday. FOW loves their volunteers! They are also looking for volunteers to assist with their projects this year.

If you cannot afford to donate money directly to these two nonprofits, then your time and expertise are equally invaluable. Please visit North State Giving Tuesday to learn about how to sign-up as a volunteer.
